Senior Dinner Money is now past due. It will not be accepted after Tuesday, May 18, 2010. Seniors were paid for as part of their dues, family and friends are $25/person.

The Senior Dinner will take place on Wednesday, May 26 at 6 pm at the Pearl Street Grill.

Prom is Friday, June 18 from 7-11 pm at the Rich Renaissance

Graduation will take place on Thursday, June 24 at 7 pm at Kleinhans Music Hall. Graduates must come to mandatory graduation practice at 10 am on the day of graduation and then arrive at Kleinhans at 6 pm that evening.

*People who have paid their dues, but not picked up their hoodies, are encouraged to do so asap.
*People who have not paid their dues need to stop by room 203 so they can fill out a cap & gown order form. These are going out on Thursday. No form = no cap & gown. (Of course, no dues = no cap & gown as well.)

*We are having a class officer meeting at 7:45 on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 in my room (room 203) regarding the Valentine's Day carnation sale. People willing to help out are encouraged to attend.

*We need the following help:

1. People to sell carnations during periods 5 & 6 on Tuesday and Wednesday (we have periods 4 & 7 covered).
2. At least 10-15 people to stay after school on Thursday to help organize the carnations for distribution (attach hearts to carnations, organize by homeroom, etc....
3. At least 10 people to come to room 203 by 7:55 am on Friday to help distribute carnations to homerooms.
4. Someone to go around to the rooms at the end of the day on Friday and pick up carnation buckets (teachers will be emailed that you're coming around).
5. Someone to go around Wednesday morning after announcements and pick up any buckets not picked up on Friday 2/12 (teachers will be emailed that you're coming around).

*The class needs to raise about $1000 to cover the rest of the year's expenses.

*On Sunday, May 2nd, we'll be holding a flapjack fundraiser at the Applebee's on Delaware Ave. in North Buffalo. We need a REALLY good turnout and at least 12-18 helpers that morning (approximately 7am-10:30am). Please mark the date and start telling friend and family about the breakfast! Tickets are $5 and we make $4 for each person who buys a breakfast!

Thank you very much to all the seniors who represented City Honors so well at the Walden Galleria on 11/29. Although it was not as profitable as we had hoped, every little bit helps and it was enjoyable!

Also, many thanks to ALL the seniors who helped at the Winter Holiday Bazaar. by doing the entertaining, manning the table, setting up, cleaning up, etc. Your help with entertainment, manning tables, setting up and breaking down really helped make the event a great success. Senior hoodies will be available for pick up the day before Thanksgiving. Only seniors who have paid their dues in full will be able to pick them up. Students will fill out the order form for their cap & gown when they pick up their hoodies.

WALDEN GALLERIA EVENT:
Last chance to earn individual money towards senior dues or trip by selling Enjoy the City Coupon Books, Senior Dollars, and Fowler's chocolates at the Galleria Mall. Only a few slots are still open. It will be Sunday, 11/29/09 from 10 am to 9:30 pm.

HOLIDAY WINTER BAZAAR:
Will take place on Saturday, December 5, 2009 from 10 am to 1 pm at School 56. Volunteers are needed to sell items at the Class of 2010 table. Students are also needed to entertain on stage (and will be eligible for CAS hours).
This is a group fundraiser (helps the entire class). Remember, your senior dues are based on projected group fundraising for the year. Any leftover money will be used towards discounts on prom tickets and an after-graduation party.

Reminders for the class:

1. The second senior trip payment of $300 is due on Wednesday, October 28th.
2. Innisbrook orders are in and can be picked up in room 203 before homeroom, during first and eighth periods, and immediately after school.
3. This is the only week to sign your senior hoodie and choose your hoodie size. Come by room 203 before homeroom, during first and eighth periods, and immediately after school. You can order an extra hoodie for $25 if you bring in the money by Monday, November 2nd.
4. Enjoy the City sales end Friday. Bring in your sample book, orders, and money to room 203 on Friday. Books will be in before Thanksgiving.

Magazine Assembly: Date: TBA – Students who want to help/develop the senior skit should see a class officer ASAP.

Senior Breakfast: Saturday, October 3rd in the cafeteria. The start time will be 9:30 a.m. It should last no longer than 2 ½ hours. Parents are invited and encouraged to attend. The guidance counselors and administrators will speak on very important senior year topics. There will also be an opportunity to pay your class dues.

Senior Hoodie Design Competition: Designs due to Mrs. Banas by Friday, September, 25th. You must provide a design for the front and back of the hoodie (taking into account that zips will be a choice again). Students will vote on the designs at the senior breakfast. Hoodies will be ordered after ALL senior dues are all paid.

Senior trip information: Trip information is being handed out today. Registration forms are available from Mrs. Banas – only pick one up if you are DEFINITELY going. The price did not go up this year. Your $150 non-refundable deposit is due by Friday, September 25th. Bring the registration form and $150 check or money order, made payable to Travelogs, to Mrs. Banas. NOTE that the class is paying $45 towards each senior’s trip.

Senior dues: Dues will be $210 ($110 if you use your $100 credit towards dues and not the senior trip). Senior dues cover your yearbook, senior page, senior hoodie, senior dinner admission, cap & gown, rental of Kleinhans, flowers at graduation, diploma cover, and class gift. They are due by Monday, November 30, 2009.

Senior Dollars: Available now in the IB office (room 203). All raffle ticket stubs must be turned in with the corresponding monetary amount by Monday, November 30, 2009. Students don’t have to wait to turn them in, they can be brought in once 10 or more tickets (dollars) are sold. They can be turned in each Thursday during 8th period. The raffle will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2009.

Turning in money: This year, I will be receiving some much needed (and very much appreciated) help with collecting money. Ms. Natali will be in Room 203 every Thursday during 8th period and until 2:45 p.m. All senior dues and senior dollar deposits will go to her. I will only be collecting and writing receipts for the senior trip this year. However, if you cannot make it Thursdays from 1:38-2:45 p.m., then you can drop off your deposit to me in an envelope and Ms. Natali will write receipts when she comes in on Thursdays and the receipts will be placed in your homeroom mailbox.

Seniors: remember to arrive at Kleinhans at 1:30 p.m. SHARP on Thursday, June 25th for graduation rehearsal. You will NOT be allowed to walk at graduation if you do not come to the rehearsal. You are then to report back to Kleinhans by 6:00 p.m. that evening to prepare for the ceremony. The ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Also, there will be a reception (punch and cookies) immediately following the ceremony in the Mary Seton Room at Kleinhans.

Seniors who have not cleaned out their lockers and/or returned locks to Security:

The administration would like you to come into School #8 between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm on Monday, June 22, 2009 to clean out your locker and/or return your lock to Mr. Gunsauley.

This will be your LAST opportunity to remove your belongings from school. After 1:30 pm on Monday, the lockers will be opened and all contents will be thrown out or given to Goodwill.

Additionally, you will owe the school the cost of your locker combination lock if you do not return it to security.

- Seniors who received parking tags from Mr. Gunsauley at the beginning of the year must return them to him as soon as possible. Diplomas will be held until they are returned.

- The senior year information sheet is past due. It was due to Mrs. Banas on Monday, May 11, 2009. Diplomas cannot (and therefore will not) be printed for those seniors who do not turn their forms in - they are already late. Please turn them in by Friday.

- The senior dinner will be held at the Pearl Street Grill on Wednesday, May 27, 2009. It starts at 6:00 p.m. Seniors' dinners are covered by dues. Family is invited and encouraged to attend and the cost is $25/person. Seniors who plan on attending MUST let Mrs. Banas know by Friday, May 15, 2009. Payments for family members are also due that day. Graduation announcements will be given to the seniors that night as well.

- Seniors who do not let Mrs. Banas know they are attending the senior dinner will be turned away at the door. A guaranteed count must be given and it is assumed that a senior is NOT attending unless she is told otherwise.

- Each senior will receive $15 off their prom ticket this year.

- Tickets are not required to attend graduation.

- Rehearsal for graduation will take place at Kleinhans at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2009. Seniors who do not attend rehearsal do not participate in the graduation ceremony.

Seniors trip and dues information

The last payment for the senior trip (in the amount of $450) was due Friday, November 14, 2008. If you have not paid, payment MUST be brought in to Mrs. Banas before homeroom on Monday, November 17, 2008.

On Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 5:00 p.m., we will have a meeting for all trip participants and at least one parent/guardian of each participant. The meeting will be held in the auditorium of School #8. The necessary district and legal forms will be filled out, behavioral expectations will be discussed, and questions will be answered. The meeting should take no longer than 45 minutes. It is a MANDATORY meeting. In extreme circumstances, an appointment can be made to meet with Mrs. Banas at another time. However, this is not preferred!

Senior Dues are due on Monday, December 1, 2008. The amount is $210 this year. Additionally, senior dollars are due that day as well. The senior dollar raffle drawing will take place Wednesday, December 3, 2008.

Rotary Exchange Information - hurry!

Dear City Honor’s Students and Parents,

The Rotary Club of Buffalo and the Sunrise Rotary Club of Buffalo are again accepting applications for the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. There are currently two City Honors graduates that are overseas in Japan and Austria. There are three (3) “inbound” students attending City Honors from Austria, Hungary and Brazil. Don’t miss this opportunity.

What is Rotary Youth Exchange?

Each year, more than 7,000 young people have the opportunity of a lifetime - a chance to live and study in another country for a year. We exchange with 19 different countries around the world.

As a Rotary Youth Exchange student, you will live with host families in another country, attend high school, learn a new way of living, maybe a new language, and a great deal about yourself.

Students will depart for their country during the Summer 2009 and will return home the following summer. There are no program fees, students will need to pay for their plane ticket and insurance, but receive a monthly stipend each month for their host Rotary club. Prior to departure students will go through a six-month orientation
process during which they will spend time with many foreign students who are living in Western New York and Southern Ontario.

If you are interested in learning more, please contact John Bradley or Greg Norton to receive a “Preliminary Application”. Interviews will be conducted on November 19th, so please act quickly.

Senior Fundraiser at Applebees - Sunday, November 9th from 8-10 a.m.

On Sunday, November 9th from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. the seniors will be hosting a Flapjack Fundraiser at the Applebees in North Buffalo.

Tickets are $5.00 and include pancakes, bacon or sausage, and a drink. $4.00 of every ticket goes right to the senior class.

Presale tickets can be purchased from Mrs. Banas in Room 203 at City Honors @ School #8.

We prefer it if people pay ahead of time, but we will take money at the door the day of the event.

After Prom Party

This year PTSCO will sponsor the free after prom party at the Delaware Park Casino. We will supply pizza and pop. If you can donate a dessert or snack, drop it off at the casino anytime after 7 p.m. The after prom party will start immediately after the prom and run until 2:00 a.m. So, don't let the evening end with the Statler, come to the Delaware Park Casino for a continuation of the party with music, food, volleyball, pingpong, and more on Hoyt Lake. As always, the after prom party is a drug and alcohol free event.

AP/IB Exams

Exams begin on the morning of Monday, May 5, 2008 with Paper 1 of the IB English exam.

Important Senior Class Dates & Info!

1. The Senior Talent show will take place on Thursday, April 17 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

2. The Senior class is holding a pancake breakfast at Applebee's in North Buffalo on Sunday, April 20 from 8-10 a.m. Tickets are available from a class officer (Kevin Moore, Bethany Halbriech, West Richter, Jr., or Harrison Warren. They are also available in the IB office. Tickets will be for sale at the talent show as well.

3. Senior Internship forms have been available in the IB office since mid-February. They are due to Mrs. Banas by Monday, April 21.

4. The Senior Dinner will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 22 at the Pearl Street Grill & Brewery. Dinner for seniors has been paid for by class dues. Parents and family are invited to attend at a cost of $25 a person. A letter will be sent home in the next few weeks about the dinner.

5. Graduation will take place at Kleinhan's Music Hall on Wednesday, June 25 at 7 p.m. Rehearsal will take place that same day at 2 p.m. and graduates must assemble at Kleinhan's at 6 p.m. that evening. There are no tickets needed for graduation. Kleinhan's has enough seating capacity that seniors can bring as many family members as they want (within reason).

The Senior Talent & Fashion Show is almost here!!!

On Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. the Seniors and City Honors will be putting on the always exciting and popular Senior Talent and Fashion Show.

It's an all ages event and is guaranteed to be a great time for all. Tickets are only $3.00 for students and $5.00 for adults.

Senior Hoodie Order

Hoodies should be available for distribution starting the morning of Thursday, March 13, 2008. Details will be read on the announcements.

Students who have not paid their dues in full will not receive their hoodies until they are paid up.

Newsflash: New scholarship opportunities arrive daily in the Guidance Office

Important Info from the Senior Meeting

1. The '08 that seniors sign for the back of their senior hoodies is available for signature now in the IB office. You have until the end of the month.

2. Cap & gown forms, hoodie order forms, and forms on how seniors want their name printed on their diplomas were passed out at the senior meeting on 2/12. They are due back to Mrs. Banas by the end of the month and blanks are available in the IB office.

3. Senior internship Q&A forms and applications are available in the IB office as well. You have until 4/21 to return them. Among other items, a parent signature is required on the form.

4. Pay your dues if you have not already done so.

5. Guidance had some important announcements at the meeting. The two most important were: 1. that seniors should turn in all scholarship award letters to their guidance counselors (whether or not you're going to the school that you received the award from). 2. that seniors are responsible for turning in stamped envelopes so that final transcripts can be mailed to the college of their choice in the summer.

6. Finally, seniors were reminded to keep their eye on the prize and not allow senioritis to become a "fatal" disease (i.e.: do something or don't do something which makes it impossible for you to graduate.

The seniors enjoyed their time at Disney. Many were fortunate to meet up with Ms. Ford, a former City Honors teacher, while at Animal Kingdom.

Mandatory Senior Trip Meeting!!!

Students going on the senior trip to Disney World and the Kennedy Space Center should plan on attending a MANDATORY meeting for the trip with at least ONE parent or guardian.

The meeting will take place at the school at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2008.

Trip chaperones are: Mrs. Elissa Banas, Mr. William Banas, Ms. Erin Comerford, and Mrs. Judy Halbreich.

Permission/liability/health forms will be signed and questions will be answered. Be sure to bring your insurance card with you and any other health information necessary to fill out the forms.

You and your parent/guardian must make other arrangements to meet with Mrs. Banas PRIOR to this date if you cannot attend the meeting.

Ms. Erin Comerford, MYP Coordinator and trip chaperone will be running the meeting as Mrs. Banas must attend an IB meeting in Rochester.

So, if you'll scroll down, you'll see the deadline for the final payment of the senior trip was today - Thursday, November 15. Despite my best efforts, 15 people have not paid. If you have not paid by the end of the day on Friday, you will not be going on the trip.

I can't tell you how unhappy I am, especially given the fact that I had to run after many students for the second payment and some of the people who owe money are the SAME PEOPLE as last time!!!

Please don't make me hunt you down or lose your chance to go on the trip. Pay tomorrow!!!

College visit to UB

On Early Release Day, Wednesday, November 28, the University at Buffalo is sending a bus that will carry 37 seniors. Pick up will be 8:15 and they will bring us back at 1:30, after lunch. You can sign up in guidance.

Post Senior Breakfast Update

Thanks to the Class of 2009 parents for a wonderful senior breakfast.

Here's an update on some important issues for the Class of 2008.

1. Senior Dues are due Friday, November 30. The amount is $200 and checks should be made payable to City Honors School.

2. The final payment for the Senior Trip to Disney World is due Thursday, November 15 and the amount is $425. Checks should be made payable to Travelogs International.

It is very disappointing that 15 students paid the second installment late. Six students had to bring their deposits to my house. I now must drive to West Seneca on Monday so that these students can go on the trip.

PLEASE pay your final installment for the trip on time. If you're paying with cash, please pay a few days early as I have to write a check out to Travelogs for the cash and need time to have it clear my account (it takes too long to get a check through the office).

3. Senior Dollars are still available in the IB Office (room 105). They are due by noon on November 30.

4. Senior hoodie ballot results will be posted by Wednesday, October 24, 2007.

5. There will be a fundraiser for the senior class at the Applebee's on Delaware in North Buffalo. It will be Sunday, April 20 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. The cost will be $5.00 a person with proceeds benefiting the class. We'll need volunteers as the event gets closer.

Senior Update for October

Senior Hoodie Design Competition: Designs are due to Mrs. Banas by this Friday, October 12th. Students will vote on the designs at the senior breakfast. Hoodies will be ordered after ALL senior dues are all paid.

The Senior Breakfast will be held in the McVay Cafe on Saturday, October 20 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Dr. Kresse, the guidance counselors, and others will be disseminating important information that all seniors should know about.

Senior Trip: the second payment for the senior trip is due Friday, October 19. It is $300 and checks should be made payable to Travelogs International. The total cost of the trip is $825. Chaperones are: Mrs. Banas, Mr. Banas, Ms. Comerford, and Mrs. Halbriech.

A reminder that dues are due on Friday, November 30. The cost is $200 and checks should be made payable to City Honors.

Parents are invited and encouraged to attend. The guidance counselors and administrators will speak on very important senior year topics. There will also be an opportunity to pay your class dues ($200 this year).

2007 Graduation Speech by Woody Brown

Hi everybody! My name’s Woody Brown. I’m going to be honest with you and say I feel I shouldn’t be up here right now. Maybe one’s chances of speaking at graduation increase with one’s demonstrations of symptoms of senioritis, or are inversely proportional to the amount of work one does during senior year.
In any case, here I am. I think the real story of the year occurred on February 27th, 2006. This date probably does not ring any bells among City Honors’ parent, teacher, student, or managerial bodies. On that fateful Tuesday, however, a decision was made that would influence the quality, quantity, and punctuality of all assignments ever to be handed in by the class of 2007. Yes, ladies and gentleman, it was then that Mark Zuckerberg, creator of Facebook.com, chose to permit college students to invite their highschool friends to join the legions of procrastinators who were already faithful members of the Facebook army.

Needless to say, we were never the same.

On a far more serious note, we need to thank those numerous and varied people who contributed to the general success of the class of 2007. We must first thank our family and our friends. They deal with us when our teachers can’t, or won’t, or are trying to tell us things we don’t want to hear. They have done everything in their power to help make us whole people, not simply students, but contributing members of society, responsible adults, and most of all, something resembling civil men and women. On a personal note, Mr. Gillian Brown and Mrs. Carla Higgins, my father and mother, picked me up from Roswell Park Cancer Institute at least three times a week for the majority of my highschool career. They’d both be upset if I let you think that I did the rest, however, something that is quite far from the truth. They refrained from beating me mercilessly when I acted ten, sometimes fifteen years younger than I am, and for that, I suppose this is more of an apology than a thank you. I am also indebted to my stepmother, Dr. Aranya Maritime, for giving my inner nerd an outlet and encouraging me to pursue what I want in life. My grandmother, Dr. Olga Karman, is someone with whom I’ve never felt awkward, or uncomfortable, or unintelligent. She has striven to reconnect me with my roots, both metaphorically and literally.

I can assure you, I speak for the class when I thank Dr. William Kresse. We sincerely appreciate the constant effort he has put forth to assist, encourage, and many times force our grade to succeed. Besides having absolutely stunning taste in clothing, Dr. Kresse is a welcome breath of fresh, motivational air that has helped make this school number 4… or number 8, but mostly number 4. We must also recognize the incredible, sometimes mind-boggling devotion demonstrated by Mrs. Elissa Banas, our class advisor. She has weathered challenging circumstances to encourage… and really insist that we work together as a cohesive group to give back to the institution that has given us so much. I have had the sincere pleasure of working with Mrs. Banas two years in a row, and it’s been great. She has been to Japan and Europe, among other places, such as space, and always has an interesting story to compliment our curriculum. Our sincerest thanks to Mrs. Mary Kiefer for working tirelessly to familiarize the student body with the intricacies of the International Baccalaureate program, even while suffering from the most severe of illnesses. Mrs. Kiefer has not only our appreciation, but also our admiration and our respect.
But of course, the disclaimer. I can not possibly name everyone who has helped our class over the last eight years. After all, it has been eight years. Eight! That is 80% of a decade! I regret that most of the teachers who have positively influenced me throughout my middle and high school careers will never know they did. Many times, it was not what occurred during class, but outside of the time we are allotted for schooling that truly stuck with me. A picture on the wall of a Denny’s once told me Mark Twain never lets his schooling interfere with his education. I would say I strive to do the same, but I don’t; it just happens. We have been fortunate enough to be taught by a faculty that encourages extracurricular learning in all respects. Debate meetings with Mr. Gearing discussing the right, the radical, and the ridiculous; free periods with Mrs. Franke talking about Nathaniel Hawthorne, a wandering Eve’s place in the Bible, and the sound and the fury of literary criticism and argument; long, sweat-fogged evenings spent with Coach Daniel The-Civil-War-Veteran Sullivan on rowing machines at West Side Rowing Club, where you haven’t worked hard enough if your foot doesn’t shake with exhaustion on the gas pedal during the drive home; these are only a very few of the times that have shaped me into the person I am and the person I will become.
I wish at this point that I could offer some brilliant, buttery morsels of wisdom, maybe complemented with quotes from Henry David Thoreau or Albert Einstein. The truth is, I really don’t know what’s going on. I’ve felt like time has been moving faster than I’ve been since high school started. I would give advice to my peers, but we are, as we have been since the day I first came to City Honors eight years ago, all equal. I am as bewildered, as excited, as nervous, and as apprehensive; as satisfied, as tired, as educated, and as wide-eyed; as devoted, as dedicated, as strong, and as intelligent as every other member of the class of 2007. I don’t have any advice for anyone in this room, unless you hit a parked car next to the student parking lot on your second day of school. All I have is thanks. Thank you, my friends of the class of 2007, for being with me for so long. I’ll never forget these years, no matter where I end up.

And to all you teachers, I hope you get a raise sometime soon.

Update on all things Senior

A reminder that the senior dinner is at Pearl Street Grill on Wednesday, May 23 at 6:00 p.m. Dinners of the seniors are already paid for through dues. Family and friends are $24 a person. Payments should be brought in to me (Mrs. Banas) immediately (they are now past due) and checks should be made payable to City Honors School.

A final headcount needs to be turned in to Pearl Street soon. If a senior is NOT planning on attending, please let me know ASAP. My email is ebanas@buffaloschools.org

Also, graduation announcements are being printed and will be available free of charge (five per senior) at the senior dinner.

Senior internships start Monday. Most seniors are participating. Those that are not are expected to attend all classes. Absences will be recorded and reported to colleges/universities on final transcripts. It is not unheard of for colleges to withdraw acceptances in cases of extreme absences/failures. Internship assignments are on the round table in the IB room. See me or Mrs. Balzer if you have questions.

Finally, don't forget to bring in your college envelopes with postage to guidance by June 1.

Seniors, remember to get your applications in to Mrs. Balzer for your internship by Thursday, May 3, 2007. If you would like the school to find you an internship, please turn in the applications as soon as you can - even before the deadline so we can start placing you.

If you do not participate in a senior internship, you will be required to attend all classes through June 12, 2007.

Information from Guidance

1) You must submit a stamped addressed envelope (to the college you plan to attend in the fall) to the guidance office by June 1,2007.
Your transcript will be sent to your college over the summer in this envelope. If you do not give your counselor this required envelope, your transcript will not be sent out.
This will create problems for you when you arrive at school in August. You will not be allowed to start classes unless they have PROOF of graduation (i.e. a transcript).

2)The counselors need a copy of any and all scholarships you receive. Even if you receive a scholarship form a college you do not plan to attend, your counselor needs this information. All scholarship letters and information is needed be June 1,2007.

Senior Dinner

The senior dinner will take place on Wednesday, May 23 at 6:00 p.m. at the Pearl Street Grill. The admission and dinner for seniors has been paid for with dues. Parents and other family members are encouraged to attend at a cost of $24/person.

Awards will be handed out and a video montage of the senior class will be shown.

Seniors,

The school counselors need copies of any and all scholarships you receive.

They not only need scholarship information from colleges, but also any scholarship you receive from an agency, business, companies etc. This is VERY important.

So, as soon as you receive scholarship awards, immediately make a copy and give it to you friendly, neighborhood school counselor!!!

Seniors!!

If you gave Mrs. Bertucci college applications to send out, be sure you also gave her addressed envelopes! She has several completed applications that are waiting for addressed envelopes.

Also, be mindful of due dates. FRIDAY, November 17,2006 will be the last day to hand in college applications or scholarship applications with a due date of DECEMBER 1, 2006.

DECEMBER 1, 2006 is the last day to hand in applications with due dates of JANUARY 1, 2007.

Delta Sonic Fundraiser

There are currently 24 Deluxe Washes; 7 Super Kiss Supremes; and 28 Oil Changes left to sell. The prices are as follows: Deluxe Washes are regularly $8 and CHS is selling them for $7. Super Kiss Supreme's are regularly $18.99 and CHS is selling them for $16. Oil Changes are regularly $22.99 and CHS is selling them for $15.

The first $25 sold goes into the Class of 2007 general account (this includes the records of sales from last year). Anything over $25 is split 50/50 between the senior class and the student. That money can be used for the senior trip (up until November 8) and for senior dues (up until December 1).

See Mrs. Banas in room 201 if you would like to sell these items.

Cap and Gown Measurements

Seniors: about 20 students have not filled out their measurements for their cap and gown orders. If you want to participate in graduation ceremonies, you need to get your measurements in to Mrs. Hannah ASAP.

Senior dues are $210 and are due to Mrs. Banas by Friday, December 1, 2006. They cover:
• Senior Hoodies (designs will be voted on at the Family Gathering)
• The senior’s ticket to the senior dinner (the dinner will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2007)
• Rental of Kleinhan’s for graduation
• Diploma cover and cap & gown
• Flowers at graduation (carnations for boy; roses for girl)
• One yearbook
• ½ page senior page in the yearbook

Senior Dollars:
• Seniors have the option of selling senior dollars. They are raffle tickets. Each dollar sold is a dollar that goes towards dues and other senior expenses. The raffle will take place Wednesday, December 6, 2006.

Senior Trip:
• Final payment is due to Mrs. Banas by Tuesday, November 14, 2006. Checks should be made payable to Travelogs International. The deadline for me to get the payment to Travelogs is Wednesday, November 15.
• We leave the Buffalo Airport at 5:50 a.m. (seniors need to arrive by 4:50 a.m. unless told otherwise) on Monday, January 22. We will return Friday, January 26 at 11:59 p.m.

• A senior bulletin board has been set up outside room 201. Check it frequently for the latest senior information.
• Prom is Friday, June 15 from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. in the Terrace Room of the Statler.
• Graduation is Wednesday, June 20 at 7 p.m. at Kleinhan's Music Hall
